A sporty skiing time, fresh mountain air, cozy hut enjoyment & numerous activities away from the slopes for summiteers, sports enthusiasts and active families are already waiting! We look forward to welcoming you to the Katschberg Lieser-Maltatal region in winter 2021/22!

Good reasons for a holiday in the Katschberg Lieser-Maltatal region

  • So far we have not been an “après ski area”, but rather a family and active region. We rely on family offers - with the necessary distance!
  • We have wide slopes and thus enough space for distance - on 70 kilometers of slopes of all levels of difficulty!
  • 16 modern lifts mean short waiting times and no large crowds of people at the lifts, of which only 3 are gondolas - the chairlifts or drag lifts offer enough space for a safe lift ride!
  • Online ticket purchase of ski passes - contactless, time-independent order and without waiting for the slopes! Ski schools and ski rentals can also be booked online.
  • Special offers for children such as family-friendly ski schools and Katschi's children's world - learning to ski is fun!
  • Located on the sunny side of the main Alpine ridge, the Katschberg offers the best of both federal states - of Salzburg and Carinthia: constant weather & wonderful days of skiing with lots of natural snow due to the altitude & otherwise 100% snow-making slopes
  • Off-piste activities: fantastic winter hiking trails, cross-country skiing trails and snowshoeing, curling, ice skating, tobogganing, etc.

General information

Restaurants, huts and accommodations as well as ski lifts have reopened with the 2G regulation (vaccinated or recovered). So, winter holidays in Austria are possible again in compliance with the 2G regulation. The lockdown for unvaccinated people has been extended.

Regulations for children - Holiday Ninja Pass

*Children up to the completed 12th year of age are exempt from the G proof requirement and do not have to show a test result. For children and adolescents over 12 years of school age, the following applies: The Ninja Pass is equated to the 2-G proof and is therefore also valid as proof of admission to restaurants, hotels or cable cars. After the end of the ninth school year, young people must also have a 2-G certificate in order to be allowed to enter 2-G settings.

*Exception in § 21 paragraph 13 for children who do not have to attend school in Austria. According to § 21 paragraph 13, the regulations of the Ninja Pass also apply to persons of school age who are not permanently residing in Austria. This means that if they can consistently prove their status with negative tests (of which at least 2 tests are PCR tests) during one calendar week, these tests may replace the obligation to be vaccinated or have recovered from the corresponding infection. According to the legal justification, the compulsory school age is based on §§ 2 and 3 of the Compulsory Schooling Act 1985 (nine school years, starting on September 1st following the completion of the sixth year of life).
